Active.com is looking for a User Interaction Designer for our User Experience Team in our Seattle area office. You will be responsible for the development and refinement of rich and scalable user interfaces, user workflow, screen mockups and style guide(s). Preference is for individuals able to build out prototypes and non functioning prototypes.
Objectives:
- Establish usability program for foundations team
- Recruit and maintain participant/customer list for research/studies
- Plan and design studies in partnership with Product managers, UX and development teams
- Facilitate usability studies, focus groups and other UX research
- Analyze results and present recommendations & proposed changes to team
You will be responsible for:
- Managing research activities for a product line across releases, including devising a tactical research plan for multiple research studies across multiple releases
- Developing and managing relationships with product team. Advocating a user-centered design process throughout the division
- Independently designing and conducting usability studies; analyzing data and writing reports and giving presentations
- Working with the product team to develop test questions and usability studies
- Overseeing projects and working to identify and address critical usability issues
- Working closely with designers to inform the user experience
Required skills:
- 6+ years work related experience in Human Factors or usability required along with demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data.
- A professional education relevant to user research is expected.
- The best candidates will have advanced degrees in human factors, psychology, sociology, or social anthropology or a bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience.
- Facility with statistical analysis, research design, and successful data presentation are all expected and will make your job rewarding and fruitful.
- Demonstrated leadership in past positions is desirable.
- Looking for a strong advocate of user-centered design that can effectively influence others.
- The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills; persuasiveness; ability to make group presentations.
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Should be adaptable, fast learner, and open to working in a collaborative environment on a variety of products in varying stages of development.
