RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Requirements Analysis – Analyze product requirements and develop user interface requirements
- Human Factors Engineering – Understand and develop requirements for human-system interfaces.
- User Interface Design – Design the product user interface according to standards and best practices
- Requirements Development – Write user interface specifications including UI layout and descriptions of interface elements
- Prototyping – Develop functional, operational, physical, and user interface architectures for our medical products
- Usability Studies – Conduct usability studies, develop user profiles, design usability tests, and write formal reports
- Workflow Analysis – Work with our customers to understand clinical workflows and clinical requirements
- Design Reviews – Review existing product designs and identify necessary enhancements
- Risk Management – Identify, assess, and develop mitigations to product risks based on usability and potential user error
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Computer Science, Human Factors Engineering, Usability, or related field required; MS degree a plus
- 5+ years of human factors engineering and UI design experience preferably with medical device industry
- Excellent understanding of HCI, CHI, HFE, as well as UI modeling and UI prototyping
- Excellent knowledge about user interface design in PC based systems using Microsoft Windows
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to convey ideas and concepts to a wide range of audience
- Produce excellent results with minimal supervision
- Strong quality orientation and customer focus
- Interaction and collaboration with several departments and locations in the United States, Germany, and India required
- Occasional domestic and international travel required
