The Interaction Designer works with UCD team members, product managers and developers, to create and improve the user interfaces of Elsevier's main existing and new Web products. Depending on skills and seniority, activities include: carrying out field studies and user interviews, creating personas, designing interaction flows (wireframes), usability testing, and working with visual designers and developers to get the user interface implemented.
Elsevier's User-Centered Design group is involved throughout all phases of the product life cycle, helping (through interaction design) to refine product and service definitions, working with customers to understand their needs, and designing interfaces that maximize efficiency of the needed interactions. We work at the intersection of scientific research and the internet, and help defining new developments in this area.
The UCD group currently consists of 25 people spread over Europe and the USA.
