Arrangement: Full-time permanent position based on client's site

Responsibilities:

This role entails responsibility for supervision of the 8-person human factors team in User Interaction / Commercial Division. Responsible for human factors design and engineering as both a team leader and senior individual contributor for medical, dental, entertainment, document imaging, and commercial printing and publishing products and services. Responsible for identifying and evaluating leading user interface technologies impacting market attack planning and integration into digital capture, output, and image management products and services. Responsible for leading human factors design and usability strategic planning and harmonization work across product families to assure user experience commonality. This position is based in Rochester, NY. Occasional domestic and international travel is required.

Required Skills/Experience:

A strong Human Factors background of 10 years or more experience in information architecture, product design, product ergonomics, software design, and web-based user interface design for successful commercial imaging products.

  • Experience in conducting behavioral customer-centered research and development focused on architecting product user experiences.
  • Keen intellectual curiosity about user interface technology applications.
  • Expertise in user-centered design methodology, processes, and tools.
  • Skilled team interaction, team leadership, and supervision.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in the creation and adoption of user experience design and architecture standards.
  • Experience with disruptive innovation, emerging market strategies, and business development for digital products and services.
  • Practical knowledge about user interface internationalization.

Required Education:

MS or PhD in Cognitive Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Human/Computer Interaction, or Computer Graphics Design.
