We are looking for an experienced usability engineer to join Oracle's Supply Chain Planning User Experience team in Toronto. You will drive user research for complex enterprise applications that provide rich analysis and decision support capabilities.

The Supply Chain Planning User Experience team is a growing group of interaction designers and usability engineers. We collaborate closely with product managers, developers, testers and technical writers in an agile software development environment. We are a part of Oracle's worldwide Applications User Experience Group and foster close ties with the Oracle user experience community.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and conduct user research activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Establish and refine user research methods.
  • Recruit and manage relationship with users.
  • Collect user data using, for example, contextual inquiries and site visits.
  • Analyze user data and create context of use representations, such as personas, scenarios, and task analyses, to inform design decisions.
  • Present and promote the results of user research to product management and development.
  • Collaborate with product teams to define features and functionality and identify the best design solutions.
  • Validate design solutions with end-users and communicate findings to product teams.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in computer-human interaction or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A deep understanding of user research methods and practices.
  • At least five years experience in conducting user research in a highly technical production environment.
  • Strong social and organizational skills.
