Job Description

As a member of the Solutions and Analytics Usability team, you will provide product user interface design and usability support to product development teams; create and modify prototypes to support evolving software application development. You will also develop user profiles, with emphasis on display issues, interaction, and task and objective analyses, as well as develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems; produce specifications describing the appearance and behavior of the user interface for a product in development.

Your duties will include performing user research to support system design; interacting with customers, user groups, and marketing to identify functional requirements; working in cross-functional teams to translate functional requirements into system design; designing, developing, and documenting high-level, detailed storyboards, mockups, and/or prototypes; running design reviews, usage walkthroughs, and usability tests; developing low- and high-fidelity functional prototypes using VB, HTML, JSP, Java, Flash, XML, and CSS; and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of experience in usability and UI design for enterprise application software. (The level of this position will be determined based on the applicant's education, skills and experience.)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, human-computer interaction, cognitive psychology, computer graphics, industrial design, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated application of psychological and physiological principles of human behavior to the design and development of software.
  • Proficient in developing usability test scenarios.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows UI guidelines.
  • Familiarity with common UI design patterns.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to communicate and work productively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferences

  • Advanced degree in human factors, human-computer interaction, cognitive psychology, or a related field.
  • At least two semesters of graduate-level course work in statistics.
  • Experience designing and evaluating browser-based applications.
  • Experience applying 508 accessibility standards to system design.
  • Experience programming in Visual Basic, JSP, and/or HTML.
  • Familiarity with Java Swing and Eclipse RCP UI guidelines.
  • Experience in the areas of operational risk, financial risk, market risk, or credit risk.
