Adobe Acrobat Reader enables you to view and print documents in Portable Document Format (*.pdf) format. It is available for a large number of platforms and languages.

The latest version (as of April 29, 2002) is 5.0.5.

Ghostscript, gv and GSview

Ghostscript enables you to view and print documents in PostScript (*.ps) and PDF (*.pdf) format. It is available for a number of platforms.

Ghostscript has a command line user interface. There are a number of programs that provide a graphical user interface to Ghostscript, such as gv for Unix & VMS, MacGSView for MacOS, and GSview for OS/2, Microsoft Windows & Linux.

The latest version of AFPL Ghostscript (as of April 29, 2002) is 7.04 (released on January 31, 2002). The latest version of GSview is 4.2 (released on February 7, 2002).
