The journal covers the boundaries between computing and artificial intelligence, psychology, linguistics, mathematics, engineering, and social organization."
IJHCS was first published in 1969 as International Journal of Man-Machine Studies (IJMMS). In 1994 it was renamed International Journal of Human-Computer Studies (IJHCS). Initially it was published quarterly, today it is published monthly.
