GI Fachbereich Mensch-Computer-Interaktion (FB MCI)
GI Fachbereich Mensch-Computer-Interaktion (FB MCI) (Section on Human-Computer-Interaction) is a section of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) (German Informatics Society).
FB MCI co-sponsors the Mensch & Computer and D-CSCW: German Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work conference series and publishes the newsletter Ergonomie & Informatik for its members.
Before the year 2000, HCI was represented within the German Informatic Society by Committee 2.3 on Ergonomics in Informatics (Fachausschuß 2.3 - Ergonomie in der Informatik).
Committee 2.3 on Ergonomics in Informatics included three Special Interest Groups (Fachgruppen):
- Special Interest Group 2.3.1 on Software-Ergonomics
(Fachgruppe 2.3.1 - Software-Ergonomie)
- Special Interest Group 2.3.1 on Development Tools for User Interfaces
(Fachgruppe 2.3.2 - Entwicklungswerkzeuge für Benutzungsschnittstellen)
- Special Interest Group 2.3.1 on Adaptivity and User Modeling in Interactive Software Systems
(Fachgruppe 1.1.4/2.3.3 - Adaptivität und Benutzermodellierung in Interaktiven Softwaresystemen)
At the end of 1999, this committee was disolved and a new Committee 2.3 on Human-Computer-Interaction (Fachausschuß 2.3 - Mensch-Computer-Interaktion) was formed.
This new Committee 2.3 on Human-Computer-Interaction comprised five Special Interest Groups (Fachgruppen):
- Special Interest Group 2.3.1 on Software-Ergonomics
(Fachgruppe 2.3.1 - Software-Ergonomie) - Special Interest Group 2.3.1 on Development Tools for User Interfaces
(Fachgruppe 2.3.2 - Entwicklungswerkzeuge für Benutzungsschnittstellen) - Special Interest Group 1.1.4/2.3.1 on Adaptivity and User Modeling in Interactive Software Systems (joint membership with Section 1)
(Fachgruppe 1.1.4/2.3.3 - Adaptivität und Benutzermodellierung in Interaktiven Softwaresystemen)
- Special Interest Group 2.3.4 on Interactive Systems (previously 2.1.2)
(Fachgruppe 2.3.4 - Interactive Systems)
- Special Interest Group 5.1.4 on CSCW in Organisations (joint membership with Section 5)
(Fachgruppe 5.1.4 - CSCW in Organisationen)
In January 2001, Committee 2.3 was granted status of a Section (Fachbreich) and was renamed Fachbereich Mensch-Computer-Interaktion (FB MCI) (Section on Human-Computer-Interaction).
